In this way, we are committed to offering you the very best while caring for your budget as well. We work with each client to create a fully personalized quote based on what you need (nope, we don’t believe in “packages”).

At FourNineteen Productions, we work very hard to create and maintain excellent working relations with the top wedding vendors in Costa Rica. We know who is at the top of their game, who has the best attitude, who has the best prices, and who will definitely make your dream wedding a reality. Our main commitment is to provide premium quality service, regardless of the budget. Our focus is to help you with the design and coordination of your destination wedding in Costa Rica, but we can also help you organize the prefect, overall Costa Rica experience for you and your guests.

Our promise for personalized service is maintained by only accepting a limited amount of weddings and events per month and never more than one in the same week.

Our Team

Barbara

Born and raised in San Jose, I moved to Guanacaste in 2001. While working at a small hotel in 2002, I noticed that guests at the hotel were starting to inquire about holding weddings there (something that had until then been pretty rare). In that, I saw the opportunity to do something that I enjoyed (planning and organizing events) that also served as a very rewarding creative outlet. I started out doing small weddings (so many elopements!!!!) at the hotel and then moved on and started my own wedding and event planning business in the Papagayo Peninsula area. Destination weddings in Costa Rica are becoming more and more popular, and my small company has inevitably grown since I started it three years ago, (not so much in size, but definitely in reach!) and branched out to locations all over the country.

If you ask me (or my friends) to describe myself, I would have to admit that I am a hyperactive, detail oriented, laid back control freak (yeah, sounds weird, but it is the truth). My personal mission is to create unique and spectacular events & weddings, custom designing everything from small elopements to huge corporate events with the same passion and dedication I give to everything in my life.

I love food and fun and parties, and I love to see people having a good time. But what I love the most, is to be moved by love. Even after all these years, I still cry at weddings. And I absolutely love the ocean…

To add to the fun, I have a B.A. in Acting from Cal State Fullerton and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (both have proven very useful in the business at one point or another). I am fluent in Spanish, English and French (currently attempting to learn Italian) and besides San Jose and Guanacaste (in Costa Rica), I have lived in France and California.

Michelle

An amazing architect with a Master’s degree in Sustainable Architecture, Michelle (who happens to be Barbara’s younger sister) is our team member in charge of handling the technical design aspects of our Costa Rica weddings and events. Whether creating perfectly proportioned floor plans or deciding on just the right tent to fit a particular venue (and all the intricate aspects related to lighting an event), Michelle is the one with the technical design know how. Beautifully creative and focused on producing green events (she is LEED accredited), she always has the most awesome ideas on how to make your wedding more enviornmetally friendly. She also often asists Barbara on site at events.

She recently got married and her wedding has been one of our most amazing events!

Michele

Better know as Miguel (Michele is Michael – or Miguel – in Italian) Our assistant, driver, handyman, bartender/waiter, all over mr-do-it all. We sometimes do need a guy to do the heavy lifting!

Why Costa Rica?

Why have a Costa Rica wedding? First of all, Costa Rica offers every possible amazing backdrop for your special day: palm trees, secluded beaches, waterfalls, boutique hotels, high end luxury resorts, mountains, funky towns, friendly people… You name it, Costa Rica probably has it! Situated only a few hours from the United States by plane (into any of its two airports, one of them only minutes away from the famous beaches of Guanacaste), Costa Rica is a peaceful and safe country filled with smiling and helpful people. With an Atlantic and Pacific coastline close to the capital, plus amazing mountains, volcanoes and tropical jungles all over the country, you will never be idle in Costa Rica! When you are planning a destination wedding in Costa Rica, you definitely want your guests to enjoy their trip (and to have a little extra fun yourselves). Surfing, hiking, golf, kayaking, bird watching, sports fishing, diving, or simply having a relaxing spa day… There is something here for everyone! Currently, Costa Rica ranks among the top places for destination weddings in Central America and the Caribbean, because of the beauty of the country as well as how easy and affordable it can be to plan a wedding here. Come fall in love with this amazing country and make it the setting for your most special day!
